HIGHLIGHTS: Follow the grassy track along this lovely open hillside with stunning views of Stroud and the Severn Estuary.

STEP BY STEP:

Leave the car park and follow the stone track leading across the common until you reach two large hollows (remnants of old dew ponds)

Stay left and follow the grassy track. You will soon see the wall of a private estate on your left. Follow this wall past a bench, then walk straight ahead to another bench with stone pillars.

Bear right and head towards some pine trees.

Pass the property with the pine trees and black gate to the left, and continue to follow the track.

Where you see the tracks meet at a clump of trees and the old quarry,  take the stony and grassy track back towards the car park.
