The Stratford Greenway is located in Warwickshire and runs from Stratford Upon Avon to Long Marsden. This disused railway line has become a haven for wildlife, with lovely views of the pretty Warwickshire countryside. It’s the perfect cycle route for families as it is well surfaced, flat, and traffic free. It even has two cafes and is super close to Stratford- Upon-Avon centre.
Cycling from Stratford to Long Marston Along the Greenway
Distance: 4.7 miles/ 7.5k ( each way).
Time: 50 minutes (each way)
Start/Finish: Wetherby Way Car Park, CV37 6GR
Traffic free? Mainly. The cycle route is traffic free, but the path does cross a minor road and some farm paths along the way.
Parking: Wetherby Way Car Park, cash less pay and display, CV37 6GR
There is also parking further along the greenway if you want to start from a different section, at Milcote Way Car Park, CV37 8JW
Eat/drink: Bobby’s Café is a nice stop near the start of the greenway.
There is also a cafe and picnic area further along the route at Milcote.
Facilities: No public toilets. The nearest public toilets are in Stratford Town Centre. Bobby’s Café have toilets for customer use.

On Route:
Start at the Wetherby Way Car Park to join the Greenway.
After a short distance, you will see Bobby’s Café.
Cycle along the flat easy path over bridges and the River Avon. Views of the lovely countryside are all around as well as plenty of wildlife. The Greenway is a habitat for the common lizard, newts, water voles, bats, and birds. Stop off for a moment at one of the picnic benches along the way and see what you can spot.
At the end of the Greenway at Station Road, turn around and head back the way you came.
Stratford Upon Avon is only a 15-minute walk or 3 minute drive away from the Wetherby Way Car Park, and is a bustling historic town with lots to see and do if you fancy adding on a visit as part of your day.
