NEED TO KNOW:

PARKING: Guiting Power Village Centre. You can park on the roadside near the war memorial for free, GL54 5UR or at the village hall for a small charge, GL54 5TX.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE? 3.5 hours, with snack and play stops.

FACILITIES: There are no public toilets at Guiting Power.

EAT/DRINK: There is a lovely café called the The Old Post Office, GL54 5UR, which is opposite the War memorial. There are also 2 pubs in the village, The Farmers Arms and The Hollow Bottom.

ACCESSIBILTY: Rocky gravel and dirt paths that can be steep in places. Stiles and gates. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

HIGHLIGHTS: Wander in the sweet little village of Guiting power which has a charming and picturesque playground and sandpit (located behind the village hall).

This walk offers lovely views of the rolling hills and Cotswolds countryside, and takes you through beautiful woodlands, where you can build dens under the giant trees of the forest, past rivers and streams that are great for splashing and playing.

STEP BY STEP:

Walk past the war memorial and follow the road around the bend. Just around the bend turn immediately right along a narrow lane signposted the Wardens Way.

Follow the path, continue straight on in to the trees, downhill and past a pond and the up the path, heading slightly to the left. Keep going past the storage building following the signs for the Wardens Way along the stone drive.

You will reach a narrow road with a stone building on your right, and a house in front of you. Leave the road here and head up, passing by the house and going through a kissing gate. Walk uphill and through another gate before entering the wood.

Follow the path through the woods and keep heading straight, and then downhill until you reach a large gate at the end of the wood. Go through the small gate to the side and turn right, following the narrow, winding, road. When the road forks, bear right. Walk through the trees and past the stream.

Keep following this path and it will loop back to the road we began on and you can retrace your steps back to Guiting Power.
