  • HIGHLIGHTS: Walk through the lovely woodland which is carpeted in Bluebells in the Spring. Bring your wellies and puddle suits in autumn and winter; its gets muddy
  • PARKING: Wardens Wood Car Park, GL54 4EX. (This postcode takes you to the near by houses. Continue up the road and you will find the car park.
  • ACCESSIBILITY: Relatively flat track, uneven in places. No stiles or steps. Muddy in the winter; bring your wellies!
  • DOGS: Welcome
  • EAT / DRINK: Bring your own snacks and drinks. There is a café at the golf club, which is located on top of Cleeve Hill, on the other side of the common. This is about 1 hours walk from the walk start point (or an 18 minute drive).
  • FACILITIES: No public toilets but there are toilets at the golf club for use of café patrons.

STEP BY STEP:

Enter Wardens Wood from the Car Park, passing between the two large stones and then turning right. Keep along the path until it forks, then take the left hand fork. This is quickly followed 320m later by a right fork. Continue on the path as it leads you between rows of trees.

Keep following the path around, between the rows of trees.

The path continues to wind between the rows of trees, and takes you to the left a few times before you come to a well defined track. At this T- Junction, turn right.

After about 10m turn left (between a patch of bramble and a holly bush). This will take you back in to more woodland. The route will take you under some Lime trees, where a clear track soon appears ahead of you.

At this main track, turn right, passing a large cherry tree on your left. A few meters up this track turn right again. When the path forks, bear left.

Continue along this straight track which will take you along the wood boundary all the way back to the car park.
